FLU VIRUS

Within the next year, according to the World Health Organization flu vaccine is getting a new complete overhaul to provide protection against three new and different influenza strains. They are hoping that this new vaccine will produce more result. It is up to vaccine manufacturers to produce 100 million vaccines by fall. Dr. Nancy Cox, a flu director at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stated that there is a lot of work needed to be done in order for them to get plenty of vaccine. This year the government made a rare wrong bet on which strains would cause the most disease, some new strains arrived and the vaccine that we have is not a good match. According to the article “Scientists now are working on a solution to that technical problem, such as using a very similar virus — it's even called "Brisbane/10-like" no help provide protection. Every year the flu kills 36,000 people. Right not they can tell if the strains of flu will be deadly then usual.

 I know a lot of people who has been affected by the flu virus and they where in and out of the hospital every three days. This new vaccine that the World Health Organization is coming up with, we can only hope that it will help those who are in need of it. I can’t believe that the flu virus hospitalizes 200,000 people and kills 36,000 each year. This is very serous and some people don’t know about or if they do, they don’t take it serous. Getting the virus is not enough; we have to keep going back for check up. This subject is close to home for me and my main goal is to inform other about how dangerous this virus is to our health.
